Flight Control HD – Unfortunately Not Coming to North America

We are very sad to confirm that unfortunately we do not expect Flight Control HD for PlayStation®Move to be available in North America. We would love to make it available everywhere but unfortunately at this point we have exhausted all avenues for making it happen. We’d like to thank everyone who has asked for your interest, we wish we could shed more light on this but all we can say is that sadly, the stars just haven’t aligned!

You mean the PlayStation Move version, right? I thought I'd already seen Flight Control HD on the iPad…

Hi cheuer, yes – sorry, that wasn't very clear! It's the PlayStation Move version only that's not coming to North America. I've edited the post to reflect that, thanks :) – Alex

So you are making this available for the Windows 7 phone, DSI, and the IPAD but not the PS3. Did Microsoft pay you to not release this game on the PS3 or does this have to do with the 9/11 Terror Attacks and Sony thinking this will result in negative PR?

Nobody is paying us not to do it, and it's nothing to do with 9/11 although we are certainly sensitive to this horrible tragedy and would not want to do anything to distress the victims. Unfortunately we can't go into the reasons other than to say that we're very disappointed, and if we could make Flight Control HD available everywhere, we definitely would!

(Also, the Windows Phone 7 version is being developed and published by Namco under license.)

Let's suppose that I purchase this game on my UK PSN account even though I am in North America. Will the game recognize that I'm not in the UK and not start up, or will it be like every other game bought on foreign accounts and work just fine?

Exhausted all avenues? Guess I won't actually pay for this game, even though I played it for free on iPad and iPhone, because those services are cracked wide open. PSN is the only service (as far as I know) that hasn't really been “cracked” to give pirates games for free, so I assumed Firemint would do everything they could. This sounds specifically like a SCEA issue.

So sad. Showed my wife the iPod version last night, and she utterly adored it. Great job. I was considering buying the PS Move and getting the Flight Control HD version so we could play on the big screen, but now – sadness! Might have to crack open that UK account!

Is there a version upcoming for the Xbox Kinect? Or even the Wii? Why no love the consoles in the USA?
