Real Racing 2 Party Play Update Available Now

To coincide with the launch of iOS 5, Firemint is pleased to announce the release of the 1.12 update for Real Racing 2 and Real Racing 2 HD. We’ve added some amazing new features for iPhone 4S and iPad 2, including full AirPlay support, Party Play via AirPlay or HDMI and gorgeous visual enhancements. All devices also benefit from memory optimizations and minor bug fixes.

New in iOS 5

Wireless TV-out through AirPlay for iPhone 4S and iPad 2. Experience Real Racing 2 streamed to your TV in 720p, while your iPhone 4S or iPad 2 displays real-time racing telemetry
Party Play – take advantage of split screen local multiplayer for up to 4 players on your HD TV (iPhone 4S or iPad 2 as host), streamed via AirPlay or HDMI connection

Note that Apple TV (with the latest OS) is required for AirPlay features

Enhanced visuals for iPhone 4S and iPad 2

Real-time dynamic shadows and specular lighting on car interiors
Normal mapping applied to car interiors, select car exteriors and driver arms for improved lighting and detail
Enhanced road lighting with normal and specular maps to highlight details that were previously indistinguishable
Various additional visual upgrades

Miscellaneous

Memory optimizations to minimize crashes
Numerous minor improvements and fixes

To use party play do you airplay to an AppleTV or to a Mac? If a Mac do you need AirPlay server for Mac? Is 1.12 forthcoming? My RR2 on Mac is only 1.0.1.

real racing 2 hd just freezes in the welcome screen in my ipad3. i’ve already closed all other apps, i’ve rebooted, i’ve done everything, it’s hopeless. it was very disappointing.

Sounds like something went wrong during installation – try deleting the game and reinstalling a fresh copy directly from the App Store. Please email help@firemint.com for more assistance!

i cannot steer by tilting my ipad2 when I choose mode A or B. I have closed all apps and rebooted and even reinstall the gane for several times. The problem still there.
